Widdlywah!

Welcome to my Blog! Like for many others, Lego played a big role for me when I grew up in the 80s and 90s. Eventually however, interests shift and other things take up your time. Luckily though creativity and the desire to create and design things never abandoned me, I just found new ways for it.

A few years ago I came back from my dark ages and impulse-bought the Knights’s Showdown set. It looked so incredibly cute despite the two Knights going after each other with axe, sword and catapult!

The root of all evil: addictive little starter sets, which  get you hooked for the rest of your life! (picture by Brickipedia)

Of course,  highly addictive as Lego is, it didn’t remain with this one set. Since at that time the Lord of the Rings theme was in the stores too, I got a couple of those as well and then discovered the collectable Minifigs and Bricklink and… I guess, you get the idea!

I love Lego for the creative challenge it means to you. You can build everything you can imagine, as long it doesn’t falls apart. And if it does: try again! I also deeply enjoy customizing my Minifigures to give them their own, unique characters.

I enjoy the tactile side of Lego and design all my builds by hand without any digital aid and with the parts I have available  at the time, or, if there is really no workaround, I order at Bricklink. But part of the fun is to get pushed out of your comfort-zone and find workarounds. I build to actually get away from the computer for a change!

So (not too far) back in early 2016, I started this blog to share my passion to Lego and give a glimpse into the little worlds I create (hence the name of my blog) do reviews and post the occasional rant into the world.

I hope you enjoy your time here. Don’t be a stranger and feel free to comment!

P.S. I am also active on Lego Ideas and Eurobricks.

P.P.S. Enough rambling for now – lets look at some Lego instead!
